I am so disappointed to hear this: For the last twenty years it has been so nice to know as a Probate Solicitor that I was dealing with an efficient government service which was manned by dedicated civil servants whose wish was to deal with their work in the most effective and helpful way possible whilst maintaining high standards: to be able to speak to someone who knew what they were doing when there was a problem. Most of these individuals will now presumably be made redundant or pensioned off as they will certainly not all want or be able to move to Birmingham. Their knowledge and personal qualities that I have treasured over the last 20 years will be lost even though they are already an efficient and cost effective service.
I always knew they would get them in the end; thank God I am nearly of retirement age.
To all those individuals at a wide variety of different Probate Registries that I have used over a 20 year period I would like to say thank you most sincerely, and I am so sorry to hear that their thanks from the government is this kick in the teeth.
