The flaw in this approach is that many landlords follow the "no fault" route to remove tenants who are in arrears. By using the section 8 procedures, the tenants will end up with CCJs and have even greater difficulty finding somewhere to live.

It will take much longer to remove tenants, and will cost more for all concerned, including the MOJ.

Not a well thought through approach in my opinion. Many small private landlords will almost certainly sell-off many properties, reducing the rental market further.

Increasing social housing (which labour reduced over their 13-year tenure) can't be avoided for ever.
