It may remove the solicitors from the process, but result certainly will not be 'DIY' claimants taking home all their compensation. More likely is that the lacuna will be filled by the claims' companies, who have been agonising over the imminent end to the PPI claim gravy train, who'll happily take £1000 plus VAT out of every £5000 claim that they handle for claimants who haven't the confidence or inclination to do it themselves. They are going to see this announcement as all their birthdays coming together! But the only real 'winners' from this will be the insurance companies. Now why am I unsurprised?
