I was gutted when a £400k claim that started on the portal didn’t settle pre-allocation. It would have been epic in terms of fixed costs. No success fee either.

Sometimes that’s the way it goes though - you take instructions and everything seems simple, then the injury goes infinitely worse.

I kinda like this situation because a lot of the time it will lead to better costs recovery than would detailed assessment. That has been my experience anyway.
