Anon 13:22 "Gender on the other hand is chosen or assumed; it is not necessarily about how are equipped when we are born. It is about how a person wants to be or how they identify. "

Except that it isn't. The people claiming to be a different gender from their chromosomes don't say: "My sex is male but my gender is female." They say "I am a real woman". Otherwise where is the offence in describing someone by the sex with which they, by definition, identify? "I'm a man but please call me a woman" doesn't cut it for the "transgender" people.

It is even claimed that there is an "infinite" number of genders (I imagine more genders than people who have walked the earth though the data hasn't all been collected!) How will the Law Soc cope with dozens of different genders? Will we have sub-committees for different sub-groups.
