When I first started, not that long ago (early 2000's), all the DJs and deputy DJs were solicitors. In the last few years, the majority of the DDJs and newly appointed DJs are barristers.

So the JAC can offer pat-each-other-on-the-back-at-how-good-we-are talking shops about diversity, but the very system they preside over continues to remove diversity in front of their own eyes as they speak!

I guess one needs the skills of a senior Circuit Judge to be able to see why this isn't a problem?
