Real life example. Call last week from an existing client. He has four commercial properties to be sold at auction in two separate lots, one of them subject to lease. How much would we quote for acting, including preparing legal pack.

Talked it through and as an existing client and with some of the work being similar for both lots, said £750 per lot plus VAT and disbs, coming in at just over £2,100 all inclusive. Which in my view was very cheap and competitive.

Long pause on the phone. He says "are you sure?" We say "yes, why". He says another firm said they'll charge £460 inclusive!!
