The market appears to disagree. If you were a Russian Oligarch planning on bringing an obscure shareholder dispute to the Rolls Building; a private equity house that decides to buy something at 5.oopm and wants the work done by 9.00am the next day; or a corporation facing regulatory issues across multiple continents, you don't really have much choice. You pay for the work to be done by Freshfields; or you go to one of their competitors and pay broadly the same.

While some of us may find it unpalatable it's clear that there is a significant demand for the services provided by NQs who are paid six-figure sums.
