When I did the BVC in 1994 (run by the ISCL on a not for profit basis) the course fees were £4k. This was for the full course (1 year with 25 hours contact time per week). Allowing for inflation the course should be no more than £10k at most. £13k for a cut down version seems still very poor value for money. If the Bar Council could run the full course 25 years ago for less than half that charged by the private equity companies why on earth can't the BSB do so?
