Please remember that sometimes people do not realise they have a problem. Sometimes you cannot do anything until that problem comes to a head. And sometimes any mental health problem is completely separate from what we do as solicitors, and can come up for what appears to be no reason/s at all.

I speak from personal experience.

Mind you, when I did return after a 6 week absence I was disciplined for an error that had been caused by my illness. A minor error where nobody lost any money and cases did not fail. I was expected to be able to defend myself. That is where the understanding is needed.
