During the last century, one of my year at university was a charming lady whose first language was Welsh. Under stress she reverted to her mother tongue. Come the finals her exam answers were incomprehensible to the seys professors. The university charter was silent as to the language in which the exams should be answered. We did laugh. They had to get translations arranged.
