  • Hearing 13 March 2018
  • Reasons 13 March 2018

The SDT ordered that the seventh respondent should pay a fine of £8,500. In his role at Cobbetts LLP from June 2012 to February 2013, the seventh respondent was responsible individually for providing misleading information and/or failing to provide material information to the SRA; and was responsible collectively with the other respondents for failing to provide material information to former member Andrew Wright, and had thereby exhibited manifest incompetence and acted in breach of principle 7 (insofar as it related to the SRA) and/or principle 6 (insofar as regards to Andrew Wright) of the SRA Principles 2011.

The matter was dealt with by way of the agreed outcome procedure.

The SDT had reviewed all the material before it and was satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that the seventh respondent’s admissions had been properly made.

The level of fine proposed for the seventh respondent was appropriate and proportionate having regard to his level of culpability.

The seventh respondent was ordered to pay costs of £10,000.
