  • Hearing 18 July 2018
  • Reasons 18 July 2018

The SDT ordered that the respondent should be suspended from practice for 15 months from 18 July 2018. By being convicted upon indictment of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on 11 October 2017, the respondent had breached principle 6 of the SRA Principles 2011. The parties had invited the SDT to deal with the allegation against the respondent in accordance with an agreed outcome document.

The SDT had reviewed all the material before it and was satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that the respondent’s admission had been properly made. It had determined that the proposed sanction was reasonable and proportionate in all the circumstances, and had accordingly granted the application for the matter to be dealt with by way of an agreed outcome.

The respondent was ordered to pay costs of £1,500.
