On 14 August 2017, the Adjudication Panel of the SRA resolved to intervene into Diamonds Legal LLP and the practice of Joanne Elizabeth Power, formerly at 3 Queens Mews, Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex IG9 5AZ.

The grounds of intervention in relation to Power were: there was reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of Power in connection with her practice as a solicitor; and Power had failed to comply with the SRA Principles 2011 and the SRA Accounts Rules 2011, which are rules made under section 31 of the Solicitors Act 1974.

The grounds of intervention in relation to Diamonds Legal LLP were: Power, as a manager of Diamonds Legal LLP, had failed to comply with the SRA Principles 2011 and the SRA Accounts Rules 2011, which are rules applicable to her by virtue of section 9 of the Administration of Justice Act 1985; and there was reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of Power, a manager of Diamonds Legal LLP, in connection with the firm’s business.

Power’s current practising certificate has been suspended with immediate effect.
