She joins after 16 years as a partner at Barnsley-based Attey Dibb & Clegg.In Birmingham, Putsmans has recruited trust and property expert Gavin Patience as a partner in its private client department.

He joins from Shrewsbury firm Patience Clarke & Burrowes, where he was senior partner for 12 years.

From 1 May, Christopher Newton is to become a partner at Harrogate and Ilkley firm Berwin Bloomer, where he heads the litigation department.Slough firm Harris & Cartwright has promoted personal injury specialist Dean Nichols to partner with effect from next month.Russian lawyer Valentina Glukhovskaya is to take up her new role as managing partner of Norton Rose's Moscow office from 1 May.PRIVATE PRACTICE - ASSOCIATES AND ASSISTANTSFirms in Leeds were busy last week.

Shulmans announced the appointment of Edmund Conybeare as a litigation solicitor, concentrating on commercial fraud and white collar crime.

He joins from John Delaney & Co, also in Leeds.Susan Boucher has moved from Newcastle Law Centre to join the Leeds office of Whittles in its employment department.
