Know your fried eggs from your duck hooks? Then the Law Society’s thriving golf club wants to hear from you.

Founded at Chancery Lane 62 years ago, the club was recently awarded the status of ‘Society of the Month’ by the National Club Golfer magazine, secretary Michael Woosnam tells us.

‘Would there be any possibility of a short article in the Gazette drawing attention to our existence?’, he asks.

Absolutely not, Michael.

Forgive our little joke. LSGC has an impressive membership of 130 practising and retired solicitors, and is looking for more to play socially and in matches at home and abroad. Michael says that you don’t need a low handicap to join, as ‘absolutely everyone is welcome’ at the LSGC.

So what’s Michael’s favourite course? ‘In 2023, for me personally, it would be Hillside, Southport, just ahead of Royal Lytham and Woking,’ he told National Club Golfer.

Obiter’s favourite golf courses are all on the Algarve (for reasons not always related to golf).
