The Law Society has partnered with the British Colombian Chamber of Commerce and the legal services chamber of the Colombian Business Association (ANDI) to host the first Colombia Law Day, on 25 June.

There will be two sessions at the free event: on UK-Colombia investment and trade relations, including how the EU-Colombia Free Trade Agreement has worked; and on dispute resolution in Colombia and the UK. The will also be the opportunity for one-to-one meetings with Colombia’s leading law firms.

Society vice-president Andrew Caplen said: ‘Colombia is an exciting market for UK law firms. As the British government has committed to double bilateral trade by 2015, this event will explore trade and investment opportunities with Colombia.

‘This is a great opportunity for UK law firms developing their business in Latin America through networking and business intelligence on one of the region’s key markets.’
