Perhaps Roger Wilson can enlighten us as the interest group he represents that is making all these introductions (A builder? Lender? Estate agent?). He certainly does not seem au fait with the problems of SME high street legal practice.
Does he not know that a good quantity of 'gouging' of buyers of new houses is enabled by 'tame' solicitors introduced to the work by developers who know the solicitor is beholden to them?
Is he unaware that new firms of perfectly competent solicitors often fail to get on panels as they "don't do enough work with us"!!??
The evidence of Anonymous 13.36 and 12.52 is borne out by the experience of high street solicitors on a daily basis. If he deals with his introductions ethically well done him but perhaps he needs to do a little more research beyond his firms experience before he comments: with 50,000 introductions a year he is only going to get proper feedback from the profession as a whole from someone who doesn't know him and doesn't give a damn for his introductions anyway ..... or someone who is 'anonymous'.
