I am all in favour of part timers but the reliable and productive one's are rare in my humble opinion.
Even on pro-rata salary and fees target basis, they tend to lag well behind their full time colleagues. The Rockhopper example looks more favourable, i.e. no fee target and a reduced salary. If you are expecting the employer to bend backwards to accommodate your personal situation, then fair enough , you have to give on your T&C's. It's when part timers expect everything from their employer and will give little or nothing back, that it grinds my gears as an employer.
