When you come to vote next year I would like to remind you that we ‘are all in it together’: the spouse who cannot afford a solicitor to obtain a fair financial settlement; the parent who cannot afford a solicitor to seek contact with his child; the employee who cannot obtain a remedy because they cannot afford tribunal fees; workers on zero-hour contracts. Not forgetting those lawyers whose legal aid practices have closed (criminal lawyers to follow) and general practices that will disappear within a few years.
