In the past week, we’ve seen the culmination of one of cricket’s greatest rivalries, where players do battle for the glory of walking away from the field as victors.

Yes, if you thought the Ashes was intense, just imagine the competition to be regarded as the best legal cricket team in the Bristol area.

No5 Chambers, Burgess Salmon, Lyons Davidson, Withy King, Lewis Nedas & Co, Avon & Bristol Law Centre and planners David Lock Associates and Tetlow King Planning all took part in the annual event to contest the Anthony Barker QC Memorial Shield.

After a six-a-side competition held at Frenchay Cricket Club, the team from Withy King (pictured) emerged as winners with a victory over No5, with the result much closer than anything served up at Trent Bridge.

The event raised more than £1,000 for the Avon and Bristol Law Centre.
