Liverpool Law Society is to help local authorities and academics draw up guides to accessible legal advice in Merseyside, after hosting a summit to find solutions to the ‘devastating’ impact of spending cuts on access to justice.

The summit was attended by 33 representatives of local authorities, independent advice agencies, local universities and lawyers.

The ‘comprehensive mapping exercise’ will be completed before the next summit meeting in July. The society will be contacting firms across Merseyside urging them to get involved.
