The Supreme Court’s hearing of the appeal in R (on the application of Miller and Dos Santos) v Secretary of State for Exiting the Europen Union and associated references - more widely known as the article 50 challenge - opened today.
The court has heard submissions from the attorney general, Jeremy Wright, James Eadie QC and Lord Keen, advocate general for Scotland. It is listed to run for four days. The court is streaming proceedings live.
