The Teaching Staff Trust (TST) is here for the people working in our schools, colleges and nurseries when they face unexpected financial hardship.
We are the only independent charity supporting serving and retired teachers and teaching assistants, early years and nursery workers, welfare staff, administrators and everyone who cooks, cleans, maintains and supervises within educational settings.
TST provides one-off grants to help individuals through tough times and is highly regarded for responding quickly. During 2025–26, we received 734 applications and awarded grants to 440 people in crisis.
We aim to make a meaningful difference by reducing the financial impact of bereavement, serious illness or injury, relationship breakdown, domestic abuse, loss of home or loss of income.
TST was formed from two charities with a 200-year history of supporting the nation’s educators. Legacies and personal philanthropy from people who care about those educating our children have helped create our fund, which is facing increasing demand.
