The culture of bullying is regretfully not limited to one firm in the south-east (Gazette, 5 November) but seems to be increasing in the profession generally. As a recruiter, I see more and more complaints from candidates about having to settle cases too early when it is not in the client’s best interests in order to ease cashflow for the firm.

Some of the methods of the bully are truly awful and in a kinder world could almost be seen as constructive dismissal. It is very sad to see both junior and senior lawyers reduced to wrecks because of greedy and over-zealous bosses.
