I note that the probate court fee for a basic grant has been increased from £45 to £155. I wish we could increase conveyancing fees similarly: they have been stuck at around £400-£500 for several years.
Perhaps conveyancing should be nationalised, so that there is a monopoly provider which would give scope for an increase to a realistic charge.
