The amusing letters on getting lost in the High Court’s maze of corridors reminded me of a terse meeting with a taxing master in the late 1970s.

He was querying the time I was claiming for each trip to the RCJ from Redhill. My response, ‘Do you know it has taken 45 minutes for me to get here from the front door?’, fell on stony ground.
