‘Sharing a cup of tea’ is one of a series of postcards created by Irina Kozikava, sister of the formerly imprisoned Belarusian lawyer Maksim Znak. The postcards form part of On the Front Line for Justice, an exhibition showcasing powerful stories from around the world of resilience and courage through artwork and mixed media in honour of lawyers who have lost their lives, been imprisoned or targeted for their work.

One exhibit features the UK.

Society president Mark Evans said: ‘Across the globe, lawyers are silenced, sentenced and stripped of their rights because they stand on the frontline defending justice and the rule of law. This exhibition shines a light on their resilience and the urgent need to protect the independence of the legal profession.’

The exhibition, in the Law Society library, is open until 20 March.
