Waltham Forest Council’s principal lawyer, Pauline Campbell, had a notable meeting this month with the monarch, who attended a reception at St James’ Palace to celebrate local government officers. Campbell told the King about her work supporting victims of the Windrush immigration scandal.
Campbell tells Obiter she was nominated by her chief executive, Linzi Roberts-Egan, for her council work, chairing the Race Equality Network and for her pro bono support of Windrush communities.
A Law Society ‘legal hero’ winner in 2024, she posted about the special moment on LinkedIn.
She told her followers that: ‘If this event reinforced anything… with the support and allyship of those around us, we truly can make a difference, one step at a time’.
