Outside the Law Society this morning (7.30am!), the lady chief justice set off nearly 20 runners taking part in the London Legal Walk River Route South course 10k.

For the second year, former bar chair Sam Townend KC crossed the finish line first in an impressive 42 minutes, which we’re told is his fastest 10k time ever. Law Society chief executive Ian Jeffery's gallant effort lead him to finish in the top five.

The Gazette's lead cyclist lost the runners very early on but briefly caught up with them running past the London Eye, before losing them again.

The team captains were Jeffery, Townend, and Mr Justice Adam Constable for the bench.

The LCJ mentioned she may take part next year - we'll hold her to that.

An excellent effort from all involved - we hope they have now gone for a celebratory bacon sandwich before potentially walking it all again this afternoon!
