’I feel a little over-dressed,’ the lady chief justice said this morning as she sounded the off in the Bar-v-Bench race’s inaugural stand-alone event. Despite its title, the 6 kilometre race (plus at least a 4k warmup) featured teams of solicitors, legal executives, regulators and other members of the legal profession. Mark Evans, Law Society president led the solicitors' team in his trade mark red shorts. 

The run is in support of the London Legal Support Trust (the organisation behind the London Legal Walk), which raises vital funds for free legal advice charities in London and the South East. Early indications are that the £25,000 target will be beaten.
