Field Fisher Waterhouse hires intellectual property specialist Hamish Porter from Addleshaw Goddard.



Moving south, Mayo Wynne Baxter makes up two in its Brighton office: Helen Bell (property litigation) and Lucy Tarrant, who heads the debt recovery team.



ASB Law hires Justin Ede as a partner to head its commercial litigation practice in Crawley; he was founder of legal headhunting firm Carrington Legal.



In East Anglia, Birketts in Ipswich promotes Andrew Rush in its construction team.



Simon McCrum joins Oxford-based Darbys as managing partner from Manchester firm Pannone, where he was business development director and an equity partner.



Moving north, Williamsons in Hull promotes Rebecca King in its personal injury department.



Julie Twist is promoted at personal injury specialists Coyne Learmonth in Liverpool.



In Manchester, Louisa Robbins and Niall Innes join niche professional indemnity defence practice Robin Simon as partners from Weightmans; Megan Howe is promoted in the London office.



Associates/Assistants



In the capital, Hayden Bailey joins the private client team at Boodle Hatfield from Penningtons’ Godalming office.



Three boost the real estate practice in Olswang’s Reading office: associates Carol Griffin and Kate Jorgensen both rejoin the firm from Osborne Clarke, and associate Rachel McLean joins from Horsey Lightly Fynn in Newbury. Meanwhile, Gillian Austin joins the IP and IT team in Reading as a legal director; she moves from Microsoft. Victoria Campbell also joins the team as an associate from Eversheds in Birmingham.



In Kent, two boost ASB Law’s property services team in Maidstone: Jeremy Ferris joins from Brachers and Davina Downes from Gullands. Meanwhile, employment solicitor Jane Smith joins the firm’s Crawley office; she was previously with stevensdrake.



Steven Eckett joins Crawley-based stevensdrake as head of employment; he was previously in-house at Global Strategies Group in London.



On the south coast, Mayo Wynne Baxter hires two for its Brighton office: retail and licensing law specialist David Lawrence from DMH Stallard, and Michael Mulcare, who specialises in high value personal injury claims; he was previously in-house with Badhams Law.



In East Anglia, six are promoted to associate at Birketts: Matthew Newnham, Sonya O’Reilly (employment), Marcos Toffanello, Simon Woodhead (property) in the firm’s Norwich office; Alex Davey (dispute resolution) and Stuart Raven (property) in Ipswich.



In Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes-based Geoffrey Leaver appoints Adebola Haffner to its wills and probate department; he was previously with Shepherd & Co in Towcester.



Patricia Kempson joins the property team at the Northampton office of Hewitsons from Taylor Walton in Luton.



Steve Cornfield joins defendant personal injury specialists Everatt & Co in Evesham from the Birmingham office of Browne Jacobson.



Dass Solicitors appoints Richard Quinn as an assistant solicitor to head its new conveyancing department in Birmingham. The solicitor-advocate previously worked in the criminal department at Vesey & Clarke.



Farther north, James Thompson becomes an assistant solicitor in the personal injury department at Ison Harrison in Leeds, having qualified at Beck Solicitors in Harrogate.



Lee Pickett moves to Eversheds in Newcastle as an assistant solicitor, having qualified at McArdles in Sunderland.

The London office of SJ Berwin appoints consultant Stewart White – chief executive officer of Stewart White Consulting – to its communications, media and technology practice.
