Law firms and barristers' chambers need to develop an AI Use Policy. Solicitors and barristers need to be trained in the use of AI. Understanding how large language models use 'tokens' (and not words) is crucial, as is prompt construction and the ability to store and re-use those prompts. The Law Society, Bar Council and SRA should work together to produce a definitive training course - which gets updated regularly - because the software is developing on a week by week basis.
