Interestingly, the lawyer criticised by Dame Victoria Sharp stated that she had not deliberately used an LLM but may have inadvertently used AI-generated content when researching the internet for case preparation. Researching on the internet is becoming increasingly precarious, as so many law firms now use LLMs to create articles and thought-leadership pieces. So many come up as 100% AI when run through an AI detector. And no, this cannot be a false reading - if it's over 70% the content is mostly artificial. I provide my clients with a badge guaranteeing that the content I write for them is 100% human written and I never outsource because I cannot trust that another legal copywriter will not use LLMs. There will soon be a premium for human created content across all sectors as it is becoming increasingly difficult to rely on the slop that is now engulfing the internet.
