Agree with all the comments below saying the Law Tech suppliers are not bearing any responsibility. We are reliant on the companies yet there are very much discrepancies between them and a lot of understanding is required into how they pull together their data in order for lawyers to rely on them.

The thing is that if the crooks know what is involved, they will find a way to get round it. No one is talking about the deep fake AI. The government's dream of a "one stop shop" being pedalled by the various digitisation propaganda machines continuously fails to answer the question of who will be liable for relying on that 'data' and what will happen if it is wrong? There is a reason why there are currently separate processes. We can't trust estate agents or brokers to do their part properly yet.

No doubt this will land on the conveyancer's head yet again.

And yes, thanks PLA for raising the choke hold on conveyancers - there are many "Better Call Saul" characters as we have seen in the news recently who are happy to look the other way (much to the detriment of those who are out there trying to be honest and do a good job).
