1 AML-this should be the financial institutions responsibility. Only if funds are coming in from overseas should Solicitors have to investigate SofF.
2 AI and technology over reliance is a threat to our Court system. All data from 2010 stolen from LAA. Imagine if that happened to HMCTS?
3 Our Justice system needs more people to help progress cases. I recall years ago that we were told that the business of law would become easier through technology also that using portals etc would speed up Justice. If you have used the Family system or the Probate system or the Chancery efiling system you’ll know this isn’t true. Courts work best with people in place to guide professionals and litigants and to progress the cases.
4 The worth of technology as an enabler of better processes is a lie. People assisted by technology is a better option. Government needs to invest in people and assist them in the roles with effective technology.

What has been removed from modern life is the ability to speak to a human being to sort out a problem. Chat Bots and such aren’t effective. People talking to people resolve issues. Technology creates a maze.
