Conveyancing may mean first timers buying a new home in the provinces around the corner with a modest deposit provided by a legacy from the will of a grandparent or a gift from the parents when all parties and their families are known to and have been clients of a firm for years. It can also mean previously unknown individuals from overseas buying a mews flat in London for millions. I would suggest that the risks are very different. A one size fits all approach which means that both are judged equally is the root of the current problem. Meanwhile barbers and nail bars spring up regardless along the High Street unbothered by such matters...
