The bar is possibly the most demanding and competitive profession. Ability, dedication and hard work are mostly, if not always, rewarded. Just to give you a few examples.
At 8.30 am your clerk is on the phone telling you there’s a late bail application, would you be at the South Western Magistrates Court ASAP?
A late return 4 handed drug smugglers prosecution has been returned to you at 5 pm on Friday with a trial starting at 10.30 at Reading Crown Court.
Your solicitor has just phoned your chambers because the client has had. a freezing injunction at 6pm on Friday and you are asked to apply asap for a discharge.
Don’t even apply for a pupillage if that life doesn’t suit you.
Unfortunately, I have no sympathy for the moaners.
