2:22 there shouldn't be such a ban on charging own client costs over and above those agreed between the parties.

"Reasonable costs" in government speak will mean "as little as they can get away with". Regardless of the reprehensible nature of everything to do with the post office scandal., solicitors run a business helping people and should be able to charge.

Large firms will of course gouge so I'd also add on that all solicitor-own client costs should be assessed and court approved.

I personally wouldn't (and don't normally) charge unrecovered costs but I'm in a position where I don't have to - others may not have that luxury.
