Fraser and Fraser, in particular, have been campaigning relentlessly for months on this exact issue of fraudulent wills. They didn't just spot a problem; they investigated and brought concrete evidence of this happening to the attention of various bodies, until the the BBC picked up our campaign, whose recent report could have been the reason behind the temporary removal.

The most disheartening aspect has been the consistent lack of interest from these bodies, with specific emails from the GLD stating that it "does not have any regulatory power of investigating." This abdication of responsibility, coupled with a system that Sir Bob Neill rightly points out encourages fraudulent behaviour through its digitisation without adequate human scrutiny, has created a fertile ground for criminals.

This situation isn't a sudden emergence; it's a consequence of unheeded warnings and a systemic failure to act. The victims are real families and the integrity of the entire probate process is undermined. We desperately need proactive measures, not just reactive damage control, to prevent this from continuing.
