In the 70s, 80s and 90s a lot of Solicitors abused the Legal Aid system. You would have had to work in that era to comment on it. It was a license to print money. I worked for a firm in a run down area in a dilapidated building. Just before the reforms the Senior Partner earned just shy of 3 million pounds doing solely legal aid work and to my knowledge he wasn’t abusing the system. Poor area and every client entitled to legal aid. Bingo
