Can any solicitor posting on here please tell me why they are referring to people who enter this country through boats or other means as illegals?
How can you possibly know they are illegals until their case is heard?
Should you really be a Solicitor if you regard people as being guilty before they have gone through the process in any area of immigration or criminal law etc?
Also can anyone tell me how somebody who has to flee tyranny and a life threatening situation immediately can enter the country legally.
Don't give me "The correct channels" nonsense because it doesn't exist for someone in that position.
"Please Mr Taliban don't kill me for being gay or opposing your regime, can you wait until I put my application in for asylum in the UK and await the outcome" doesn't go down too well.
The rhetoric seems to be if you arrive by plane or another means then that is the right channel but if you arrive by boat it isn't.
More investment is needed at policing our boundaries and certainly in our Court system not silly gimmicks and promises impossible to deliver and against the rule of law.
