Am I the only one to see problems with this? If you fix a price with the taxi to take you to the local airport and half way there you decide to go to Heathrow instead, can you reasonably expect the same price? Likewise, how can a complex piece of litigation seriously be subject to a fixed cost? I can see how you might do that for certain aspects, but at best you are going to err on the side of caution, making it more likely that the client will loose out if they win but are then unable to recover a large proportion of their costs because they exceed anything allowable on a detaield assessment.
