Whose idea indeed: they ought to be given a medal. Internet anonymity has demonstrated how small minds and bullies operate with impunity under the cloak opacity, just as injustices are more easily perpetrated by litigants who know that all their bad actions will remain secret. By all means, have the light of public scrutiny be allowed to shine in wherever possible, and let the costs be borne by parties who must think more carefully about emotionally and financially costly litigation, the pursuit of which can often serve vengeful purposes in itself, and should not be subsidised by the public purse.
