Shocking! Not unlike the first item here on how they carry on in China. But the great difference is that our courts protect us, well some of the time anyway, from abuse by the state, hopefully. Or does it? I'm not entirely sure, a £500,000 fine for being six days late in complying with an interlocutory order when no one suffers harm seems slightly OTT to me, although others seem to think it's quite OK, but that at least is the theory.
