‘When you have a profession where the majority of partners - the very top of the tree - are men, then something is going wrong". That's an extremely discriminatory comment. If she'd substituted the word "women" or "ethnic minorities" for "men", there'd have been outrage but it's ok to discriminate against men?

Many more women solicitors work in my firm than men but a higher proportion of men are partners. Women are promoted but a lot more men apply for partnership than women. Assuming they are all of equal ability, until that fact changes, the structure will always be male dominated.
