This debate and lobbying is very similar/ reminds me of another very powerful, very wealthy lobbying canpaign by the tobbaco and pharmaceutical industries to persuade the European Parliament to ban e-cigarettes. E cigarettes are essentially inhaling ligquid flavoured vegetable glycol with added nictine. They are not carciogenci and do not contain any of the 4,000 toxic chemicals in cigarette smoke. The tobbacco companies want to ban them because people are not buying tobacco anymore and use these 'Vaping pipes' instead. The phamaceutical companies want to ban them as nobody is buying thier useless nictine patches/nicotine gum anymore. See the similarity? Conservatism is simple. Blame and whip the poor for everything. Make as much money for big business as possible. Yes there is a growing hate relationship between claimant lawyers and defendant lawyers. It is a subliminal campaign. Insurance companies are attempting and succeeding to image 'clainming injury compensation' to drink driving, smoking in public places etc. In other words, if yu are injured as a result of an accident - you are a bad person, even if it was someone els'e fault - you are a bad person for making a claim. You are a fraudster and against societie's better interests. We have to ride the storm. No party ever stays in goivernment for ever, usually in this country they have 2 elections and then they are out. Last pont, no political party has ever won an election because of their manifesto. Thery always win beacsue the other party, or the last government turned out to be no good. Its a shame in some ways that the tories were noit in government in 2008 when the crash caused by the banks and insurance companies caused the worlds biggest ever recession. Maybe none of the claimant and legal aid persecution would now be in pace and going forward.
