Report comment

I am concerned at the SRA’s diversity survey. The SRA told us that we must report our diversity data, but to most of the questions there is a prefer not to answer opt-out box, showing that, despite the LSB’s requirement and SRA’s demands for compliance, participation is in fact voluntary. I would happily provide diversity information voluntarily if asked nicely for it, but I object to being bullied into providing under a pretence that it is compulsory. I also worry about regulators getting too big for their boots and doing what they do not need to do.

As an aside to the John report, I question Mr Campbell’s suggestion that we should look for solutions rather than argue about reasons. No meaningful or lasting solution can be found unless first the reasons are understood
