Dennis Wickfield, if you really believe the nonsense you have just written it can only be because you either never knew the facts or you have decided to ignore them. The reason the PDS has been slow to develop is because governments of any colour have seen how much more per case it costs than the existing system. Until this year governments have known that criminal defence work would be done cheaply by lawyers willing to work for peanuts. The only way they have been able to portray criminal defence lawyers as fat cats is by manipulating figures.
