At a time when Solicitors costs are amputated rather than shaved, and with the Government banging the drum about the costs of civil litigation generally, this is utterly galling,

Justice is now bankrolled by near bankruipt solicitors who are on a white knuckle ride, navigating ridiculous Mitchell sanctions, massively increased PII and ever increasing regulation.

You really couldn't make this up. The mantra of judicial reform was "Access to Justice". Really?

So, access to justice is determined by punitive decisions by the courts at the drop of a hat, the slashing of solicitors costs, the taking away of civil and family legal aid, the decimation of criminal legal aid, the massive hike in court fees across the board, the huge increase of red tape and the phenomenal increase in PII?

Yet we all sit in our offices shaking our heads, powerless it seems to do anything. We're not even turkeys voting for Christmas as we have no effective voice. How desperately sad.
